In Shakhsiyah Schools, language is regarded as a fundamental tool for shaping thought. The quality of language directly influences the quality of thought, and this holds great significance for the Muslim community in Britain. The curriculum at Shakhsiyah Schools emphasises the immersion of children in language experiences, emphasising both spoken and written English.
In English, learners engage in speech, reading, and writing, analysing and organising their work creatively. They utilise errors for learning, predict outcomes, and discuss language patterns. Higher Order Thinking (H.O.T) questions enhance their understanding. We employ various approaches in primary English development, emphasising writing for diverse purposes and audiences, integrating visual and kinesthetic skills. The Big Writing approach, implemented on Fridays, enriches writing standards through focused sessions and preparatory vocabulary and grammar activities during the week.
